Costa Rica | Playa Santa Teresa | Nicoya Penninsula
Hi All,
Here you go. . . where I went, what I did, what I liked and any bewares.
Costa Rica | Playa Santa Teresa | Nicoya Peninsula
• Playa Santa Teresa is nestled between Playa Hermosa and Playa Carmen. The population of Playa Santa Teresa is a floating 3000 based on the flux of tourists in the dry season
• Time to Go: Dry Season December - April (I went in early December for 2 weeks)
• Flights International: I like to travel Delta and connect through Lax and down to San Jose (usually a little less expensive than Liberia)
• Flights Regional: Once in country exit the terminal walk outside and follow the sidewalk and signs to the Domestic terminal. It is very nice and new and super simple. I have flown both Sansa Airlines and Green Airways. These two airlines are very resonable and a great efficient and safe way to hop over to the Nicoya Penninsula as well as other Costa Rica locations.
• Taxi Service: Once in the Cobano Regional airport grab your luggage from the plane and head through the building and out the other side are a number of taxi services and they can take you the 20 minute ride to Playa Santa Teresa for $40 no matter how many people.
• Beaches: Ok this is the best part. There are two main paths through the jungle to the gorgeous beach. Main beach right across from Eat Street and more north across from House of Somos head down the path to La Lora Beach
• Surf Board Rentals: Kina Sport is where we rented our surf boards from the American owners who are incredibly nice and helpful. The boards are from his old quiver, super cool. I had a 9' and
• Bicycle & ATV Rentals:

• Once down in Stinson Beach go to Stinson Beach Surf + Kayak for your wetsuit and board rentals and lot's of extra good info from these wonderful long time low key locals. Located at 3605 CA Hwy 1, Stinson Beach.
• Follow around the bay, gorgeous drive, to Bolinas Bay Beach and try to street park somewhere where Brighton Ave and Park Ave meet. There is a park with bathrooms if you aren't comfortable changing into your wetsuit at the car. I went in late October and needed a 4/3 wetsuit and booties, use gloves if your hands get cold too. The walk with your board isn't far from there.
• Post "surf sesh" you will want to explore this little gem of a town mixed with laid back culture and hipsters from "The City." We ate the best fish and chips (fish so fresh caught just hours earlier) Coast Cafe
• On our way to San Francisco (this was a between here and there surf sesh, we didn't stay overnight but would love to next time) we stopped for a coffee at Stinson Beach Market located at 101 Calle del Mar, Stinson Beach, CA 94970 for a delicious espresso and a visit with the cutest quiet barista's pup.

The only Beware is to always check the surf report, I like Surfline, they have a free version for conditions and the weather as it is often foggy here. The break is mostly sand.
Then off to San Francisco! This is for a later blog STRING of PEARLS
- Please share The Chicks Company | Deb's Travels with friends and family. As it grows so will the STRING of PEARLS to include discounts and retreats to pass along.
Until next week!
