đż Re-Entry: How I Learned to Honor My Wellness in Real Life
First off, weâre often far too hard on ourselvesâexpecting perfection from thought to intention to implementation. But life isnât always that linear. Sometimes thereâs a lagâcaused by the unpredictable, messy, beautiful thing we call Life. This is where compassion and mindfulness become essential.
Â
đ The Post-Retreat Reality Check
Thereâs always a transition phase when you return from a wellness retreat or a deeply revitalizing vacation. You may have said to yourself:
âIâm going to carry this peace home with me. Iâll integrate these practices into my daily life.â
And thenâBOOMâreality hits. Schedules. Emails. Errands. Kids. Work. Suddenly, you find yourself saying, âOkay, tomorrow Iâll start.â And âtomorrowâ becomes a familiar word. The practices begin to drift, and guilt creeps in.
Â
đ¸ Compassion Over Perfection
How Iâve learned to gently navigate this is by reminding myself:
Slow is fast, and fast is slow.
I go easy on myselfânot in a lazy way, but in a compassionate way.
I accept that re-entry has its own rhythm. I remind myself that perfection is a form of self-sabotage. So I start small.
- When I can.
- Where I can.Â
The build gently and intentionally.
Because hereâs the truth: You already own the tools to create your peaceful practice. You brought them home with you from your wellness retreat. Theyâre still with you. All you have to do is beginâsoftly.

đ Practicing What I Preach
I wanted to have this blog article done two months ago. But instead of writing about wellness, I found myself Living Life.
Life in my hometown began to unfold in the most unexpected and beautiful ways. I leaned into the tools I developed during my wellness rebuild:
-
Yoga for grounding
-
Outdoor adventuring for my soul
-
Social connection with family and friends
-
Loveâyes, real love
-
Work that I genuinely enjoy
Back in June, I wasnât sure all of these loving things could happen in just 90 days. But they did. And they continue to.

đŤ The Gentle Reminder
Wellness doesnât demand perfection. It asks for presence. It asks you to honor your practice, even when Life gets loud. And when you do, goodness does prevail. I Promise.

I love Albert Einstein quotes,
"Look deep into Nature, and then you will understand everything better." .Â
So true right?! Nature teaches us so much if we lean on her and listen, observe. . . take a deep breath and just "Be."
Â
I am fortunate to call a mountain town my home; a major Nature spot for sure where outdoor opportunities abound. "Nature" IS everywhere, including big cities, we just need to tune in, look for it and spend some time there, our souls will thank us.
Â
Please click on the Chicks Award List picture below for all the links to my favorite places in a few mountain towns I love and spend time in. This list is growing and all the places referenced are vetted by me and my crew, these are our favorites!
Take a peek and Enjoy as I am out living my Life in Nature.
